[Emailfda] VCU History Department symposium April 23rd

Greetings,

I'm writing to invite you to an event that the VCU History Department and 
the student history club are hosting next week on Thursday, April 23rd. 
This is the 3rd annual spring symposium, hosted by the Alexandrian Society 
and the VCU History Department. The title this year is "Social Relations 
during Slavery in the Atlantic World."  This is an all day event featuring 
distinguished guest lecturers in the field. Dr. Franklin Knight, Professor 
of History at the Johns Hopkins University will give the keynote address 
at 9:30am. Also speaking are Dr. Phillip Schwarz, Professor Emeritus from 
the History Department at VCU and a fan resident, Dr. Maureen Elgersman 
Lee, Executive Director of the Black History Museum and Cultural Center of 
Virginia, Ms. Dawn Miles, at VCU Alumnus and Graduate teaching assistant 
at Ohio University, Dr. Sarah Meacham, Assistant Professor of History at 
VCU, and Dr. Roderick McDonald, Professor of History at Rider University.

We're looking forward to an exciting, productive event and hope that 
members of the Fan community will be able to join us.

The event will be held in the VCU Student Commons Theater at 907 Floyd 
Avenue from 9am-5pm; it is free and open to the public, tickets are not 
required.
