Dear Residents and FDA Members,

In an effort to keep all members, residents and property owners informed
about changes to the Fan Residential Restricted Parking District the FDA has
created a Special Web Site.  

The web site address is: http://www.update.parking.fandistrict.org
		
The information is being provide so that member, residents and property
owner not in the district have visibility in to what is taking place.

The FDA has been contacted by residents in 9-block adjacent to the FRRP
district - Zone2 who believe that they have now been affected by the
addition of Hanover Ave and N. Allen Ave to the Fan Residential Restricted
Parking District and we believe they are gathering signatures on petitions
to be added to the FRRP district - Zone2.

This is the direct results of students parking in the non-restricted areas
and either walking or bicycling to school for day or night classes.  VCU is
increasing by ~2,000 students per year and simply does not have the parking
capacity to handle the growth.  Many student would rather park for free and
walk to school.

Special Note: The parking district (zone2) is expanding at a rapid rate,
once the district expands to N. Meadow Street the City will require a new
ordinance and will require both the support of your new council
representative and the Fan District Association. This will not be an
expedited process as is the additions to zone2 and  will require funding and
resource reviews.
