Patriot Day program set for 9-11 at Byrd Park's Carillon

 

            The City's Department of Parks, Recreation and Community
Facilities and the Carillon Advisory Committee will hold a Patriot Day
ceremony at the Carillon in Byrd Park on Thursday, September 11 at 11 a.m.
The event is being held to commemorate the victims of the September 11, 2001
terror attacks and recognize the emergency responders and others who
continue to serve the citizens of this country on a daily basis.

            The program will include vocal music and a Carillon bell
concert. Remarks will be delivered by the City's Acting Chief Administrative
Officer Christopher Beschler, Department of Parks, Recreation and Community
Facilities' Director J. R. Pope and other community members.

            The public is invited to join the Department and the Advisory
Council in this commemorative service.
